CARDLOCK RELIABILITY
Recent research suggests that Castle Fuels (and Petro-Canada's SuperPass) are providing the most reliable cardlock network with less downtime, fewer card-reader failures and quicker pumps. While we are glad to hear this, we believe we still have significant room for improvement. We strongly encourage you to provide feedback whenever you encounter problems so that we can take corrective action. Call us anytime or fill out an online survey on the home page of our website.
One of the most common problems is cards with worn mag-stripes. Please do not hesitate to order replacement cards or back-up cards. You can order new Castle cards by replying to this email or by phoning us during office hours
( http://www.castlefuels.ca/contact.html ). For replacement of SUPERPASS cards, you can call the toll-free number on the back of the card.
NAKUSP HIGHWAY ACCESS
It is now official. All approvals are now in place for the new highway access at our Nakusp cardlock. We should see the construction underway relatively soon. SuperPass customers will also be interested to know that Nakusp will be added to the SuperPass network within the next few weeks. Road Builders - If you are interested in bidding on the highway access job, please let us know and we will see that you get on the bid list.
GASOLINE PRICING
There has been a lot of ominous predictions in the media recently about where gas prices are headed. Gas prices are certainly high at present (about 10 cents/litre higher than the same time last year) but I don't think anyone can say with certainty that we will continue to see large increases this summer. There are many market factors that could bring price reductions and we remain hopeful that prices will settle.
If you are interested in more information on the factors influencing gas prices, there are several places on the internet that you can source articles.

LUBRICANT SUCCESS STORIES
Petro-Canada lubricants can save you money! Evidence continues to come in... demonstrating that Petro-Canada lubricants will both last longer and reduce wear on equipment. The difference, versus most competitors, is so great that one of our biggest challenges is to make the data seem believable. We really aren't exaggerating when we claim that Petro-Canada Hydrex lasts three times longer than hydraulic oils sold by our major competitor . We encourage you to stop in and let us tell you about some of the success stories.
If your biggest problem is leaky hydraulics, not oil breakdown, there may be still be help from selecting the right hydraulic oil. Ask us about the advantages of premium multi-viscosity hydraulic oils. In some cases, the root cause of broken hydraulic hoses can be traced back to improper oil viscosity at either the equipment's operating temperature or the start-up temperature. As you know, conditions in Canada can be very demanding on the equipment and the lubricant.
SALE ON LUBRICANTS
Castle Fuels customers will have until the end of May to take advantage of the extra $.20/litre discount on DURATRAN and DURON 15W40. Until the sale is over, you receive your regular discount plus an additional $.20/litre discount.
Bulk lubricant deliveries can also prove to be a great money (and time) saver. If you have 5 or more large pieces of equipment and most of the service is handled in a central shop, you may be a good candidate for bulk lubricant deliveries. We would be happy to discuss bulk equipment, supply options and pricing at your convenience.
SUMMER DIESEL DENSITY
Drivers are noticing the difference. We are now on full summer diesel with density consistently at .860 or higher. There is a direct correlation between density and "power and fuel efficiency". Petro-Canada's Edmonton refinery produces an excellent high-density summer diesel.
